Books as a remedy to a world of ubiquitous screens

The materiality of a physical book opens a more intimate experience, adding touch and mass to ethereal images, catalysing the visual experience of photography. The reflective medium of paper appears also in relative opposition to the light emission from the increasingly ubiquitous digital screens we look photographs on.

Here are a few glimpses of what is coming up.

Serial 1

'Serial' is meant as an experiment in automatic photographic narration. There is no randomness, only timely decisions. This number one tome combines the first 6 monthly opuses into one. Every image has a hidden story but the series adds an adventure dimension. Some are now, some are past, and they probably will foretell the future. All are memories.

The Bootymachine

More than 30 years after the creation of the Internet, and following a reflection on modern connected digital devices, this photographic work was part of a larger online multimedia project and tried to tackle new opportunities for photographical practices.

Using the increasingly potent cameras of mobile phones, the Bootymachine would let the photographer take a picture from his pocket, wherever and whenever, that would then go through computational techniques to modify and stylise its texture. The system would then published it on an online web based platform for it to be accessible to all.
